The Architectural-Park Complex "The Palace" is located about 2 km southwest of the center of Balchik and was regularly visited by the Romanian Queen Maria. Spread over an area of 194 hectares, the complex becomes one of the main attractions of the Northern Black Sea region and is included in the Hundred National Tourist Sites.
The University Botanical Garden is located in and is part of the Architectural-Park Complex "The Palace" - a group monument of culture of national importance, which was a former summer residence of the Romanian Queen Maria in the early 20th century. Along the seashore, terraces-gardens are separated by steep stairs, green tunnels, and arches.
The Mussel Farm "Dalboka" near the village of Bulgarevo, located 29 km from Balchik. The mussel farm and the mussel restaurant, located between Kaliakra and the village of Bulgarevo, have become one of the attractions of Kavarna and the region. The restaurant offers a rich menu of fresh mussels obtained from the mussel farm as well as a variety of seafood dishes. Here you can enjoy a beautiful view and immerse yourself in an incredible atmosphere while listening to the whisper of the waves.
Cape Kaliakra is a rocky peninsula, protruding 2 km into the sea in the northeastern part of the Dobrudzha plateau. It attracts tourists from afar with its distinctive silhouette. There are many natural caves on it that resemble rooms. The last "room" in the rock reveals a vaulted window above a dizzying abyss. This part is called the "Gate of the Forty Maidens". It is located 36 km from Balchik. On the cape, there is a museum, a restaurant, a lighthouse, a marine radar station, a meteorological station, and a chapel.
Eco-Telus Snail Farm and Restaurant (village of Bulgarevo) is located 30 km from Balchik. The farm has been operating since mid-2010, and in 2015, the owners opened a family restaurant. "FROM FARM TO PLATE" is their concept, which offers customers healthy and delicious food by first introducing them to all stages of the production process before preparing snail dishes.
The rock arch near the village of Tyulenovo is located 47 km from Balchik. Tyulenovo is famous for the rock formation "The Arch", which looks very much like the famous arch in Malta (Gozo), which was destroyed in 2017. Similar to Cape Kaliakra, the rocks here are colored in red. It is a preferred place for watching the sunrise on July 1st.
Durankulak Lake and the "Golden Fish" restaurant, where you can enjoy delicious river crayfish. Durankulak Lake is located southeast of the village of the same name in the northeastern part of Bulgaria's Primorsko-Dobrudzha region. It is a protected area with an area of 446.54 hectares, inhabited by many rare biological species and an archaeological park. It is located 58 km from Balchik. The restaurant is located about twenty meters from the water (where a small wooden pier enters the lake) and has a spacious glass terrace. The menu emphasizes seafood, offering various types of freshly caught fish from the sea or the lake, caviar, crayfish, prawns, and many other delicacies. From the restaurant, you can enjoy the picturesque view of the lake. You must also try the fish soup, which is a specialty of the establishment.
The Varna Dolphinarium is located in the northern part of the city of Varna. It is a popular tourist attraction that offers shows with dolphins, sea lions, and other marine animals. The Dolphinarium has a large pool and modern facilities for the care and training of marine animals. It is located about 50 km from Balchik.
